Wanna Check That Book Out?

next.jpgApparently, according to today’s LA Times, Texas has Texas- size plans for the Bush Presidential Library.

And *guess* who’s going to be Head Librarian?

Former Commerce Secretary Don Evans is leading the search for a suitable location in the Lone Star State to house all of
Bush’s books, including his personal favorites… the entire Trixie Belden
Mystery series. next.jpg

Evans will receive help from Marvin Bush, who purports to be “one of the Bush brothers,” although I’ve never heard of him. Have you?

Here are some of the possible sites, courtesy of LAT:

• SMU – The First Lady’s alma mater. An obvious favorite, as Laura still has fond memories of streaking the quad there.
• Baylor – It’s near Crawford, home of Bush’s “ranch.
• A&M – However, Junior would have to share space with Senior and ain’t NOBODY wants that.
• UT – Come on. Like Bush is going to share billing with LBJ. Like LBJ wouldn’t roll over in his grave.
• Texas Tech – Just come on.

Tom Barry of SMU: “Everyone thinks SMU has an edge, but we haven’t heard that from anybody that counts.”

Barry added, “Just some guy named Marvin.”

Uh, yeah, uh, excuse me, but uh, about Laura Welch streaking the quad at SMU. Are there, like, photos? Or maybe a link to photos? Thanks. It’s for a research project I’m working on for summer school.

uhm, don’t overmisunderestimate my alma mater – Houston Baptist University…politically and religiously in-line with Bushy.

Take it on the road man. Liberty or Bob Jones University (BJ U) come to mind.

Too bad Oral Roberts is in Oklahoma. . .

Bush exercised executive privilege so much and since he doesn’t read, they could house his Presidential Library in the trunk of my car if they wanted, then it could just travel around the state.

By the way, will the book he was reading to the kids during 9/11 be in there?

casey! I figured you checked this blog.

    Sorry about the off-topic comment.

    Uhm, libraries!

You forgot Arlington, with free land from Tom Hicks, next to the Ballpark where he got his start. Joint bid with UTA and UT System.
