So this morning I’m at the dentist, suffering through my doctor’s preferred news station KVET, when he starts discussing the election and his political views. This has happened before when I go in for a simple cleaning and emerge with a travel-sized toothpaste and a head full of OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?

Today he discussed both Obama and McCain and how he’s not crazy about either one of them (he was a Ron Paul fan) but that he’ll probably end up voting for McCain. I enjoy hearing him vent because it’s a side of the American electorate that I don’t often see since everyone on this blog shares the same brain. (By the way, I’ll need it for at least a couple days next week.)

I just sat there, nodding in agreement at everything he said, since I had little choice to do anything else. And, since I already lied to him by swearing that I floss every night, I figured that pretending I’m a Republican is no big thing.

Apparently tomorrow’s the big day, when we will all find out who Obama’s picking as his VP. So it was a total fake-out that it would be happening today. And I fell for it, donning my Hillary for VP! t-shirt this morning.

Everyone’s saying it’s Biden. Which I’m OK with. I think Biden would be an excellent choice, given that I already have a picture with him (vintage Feb ‘06) which I can post at least once a day for the next eight years.
