Really?

Soldiers guarding a checkpoint near Baghdad Monday stopped a wedding convoy only to discover that the “bride” and “groom” were actually suspected terrorists. And, the bride wasn’t wearing white.

Apparently the soldiers became suspicious because the convoy did not have “Just Married” on the rear windshield in shaving cream, or the customary tin cans tied behind the car. The “groom” refused to lift his “bride’s” veil, and OH MY GOD so would you if your bride looked like that.

And, what’s with the posing for the pictures? This isn’t your wedding day, it’s a mugshot.

Maybe the groom, Abbas al-Dobbi, just had on really, really thick beer goggles.

But you always hope the beer goggles wear off before the wedding.

uh, is it just me or does thos two photographs look heavily doctored and fake? I’m not knocking the story or saying its fabricated in any way. It’s just those pictures look…odd. Maybe it’s just because I’ve never seen a dude in a wedding dress, I dunno..

If you can’t trust the Iraqi Defense Ministry to publish undoctored photos, who can you trust?

Did you guys catch the caption on the CNN story for that second bride picture????

“The suspect terrorists tried a modern-day Iraq War version of “shotgun wedding.”

AWESOME.

A bridal bouquet would be awesome as an IED. Maybe they could incorporate that into the Bachelor. Here, catch, and excuse me while I make this phone call.

If this picture is indeed authentic, it sort of makes you rethink the whole Islamic martyr theory of a heavenly reward of 50 virgins.
