According to an AP poll that has nothing to do with how many pairs of shoes women own, 34 percent of people believe in ghosts. That means that one-third of people reading this blog are total nutballs. The other two-thirds are complete psychopaths.

This is the same percentage of people who believe in UFOs. Count me among that crowd. I was abducted by aliens when I was in high school, who made me perm my waist-length hair against my will. Another 48 percent of people, including me, believe in ESP. For example, I know that I will be drinking wine tonight even thought it’s still today. Did anyone else’s spine just tingle?

Out of the 34 percent of wackos who believe in ghosts, 23 percent say they have actually seen a ghost. Single women are some of the most likely candidates who have seen a ghost — it’s called the ghost of the one who got away. Three in 10 have sensed a strange presence in the room, described as a feeling of being miserably alone.

Almost 20 percent of those polled believe in spells and witchcraft. This reminds me of a witch named Celeste, who my older sisters convinced me was real when I was but a seven-year-old naif. She supposedly lived under the stairs in our scary basement, and granted my sisters special powers, like tickling me until I peed in my pants and stealing my allowance.

I’ve sensed a strange presence in my room before, but it’s usually upon waking up after a late night at the bar.

I figure out his name eventually, though.

I’ve sensed a strange presence in the room. But only when I’m drinking with Eileen.

Re: 2. lurkette

You’d better have a talk with the jokers who conducted this survey. “lurkette” is nowhere on that list.

I’ve sensed a strange presence in the room. But only when I’m drinking by myself.

With all the Old Testament talk, I briefly thought I was watching a Larry Kilgore campaign tape about what will happen if we don’t secede.

Agreed, but my friend bottle says my other friend glass thinks I’m cool, and I’ve never heard any arguement from the icetray crowd. Now that I think about it, there’s way too many people in here.

Lush’s is always better. She’s the rockstar/800-pound gorilla in the room.

I had an Aunt Celeste. She was a witch, and she was crazy.

7 years old - please. It was just last week that I told Eileen that Celeste wasn’t real . This was a real blow to her, since she was still trying to stay awake late enough to attend the midnight meetings under the basement stairs.
