Hillary Clinton released her first ad in Iowa Tuesday, and the White House is not pleased. They would have issued a statement but everyone has left the building.
The ad shows Hillary speaking at a campaign rally saying, “If you’re a family that is struggling and you don’t have health care, you are invisible to this president. If you’re a single mom trying to find affordable child care so you can go to work, you’re invisible too.” The ad also shows Hillary saying that the troops are invisible. Which may be the reason the surge is going so poorly.
In response, President Bush claimed that he often believes in things he cannot see or even understand at the most basic level. This reminds me of when I was a little girl and I thought that if I closed my eyes, no one could see me. I used to taunt my sisters by saying, “I can’t see you, you can’t see me, I can’t see you, you can’t see me.” Which is why I spent most of my childhood playing with imaginary friends.

I agree with you most of the time…and I agree that a lot of things in Iraq are not going well, but to blindly comment that the surge is not going well, when a lot of things about it are, I think is irresponsible…
Just my thoughts.
Irresponsible? Rather harsh for an obvious joke, dontcha think? While “a lot of things” are going well, the surge has not changed the war’s fundamentals and thus our need for humor in the face of this ongoing tragedy. In other words, lighten up dude.
Re: 1. Woah
Tell the 200 Kurds killed in the “stable” part of Iraq yesterday that “a lot of things” about the surge are going well.
/Irresponsible? A blog!?
Re: 3. Scooby Dooby Doo
seriously, woah. ask pink lady about her credentials.
I’m not sure which news reports you are watching about the surge but even NBC thinks it is working.
Has anyone, even the Pink Lady, even seen the commercial that Hillary ran? I suggest you watch it with an open mind and then determine if it is irresponsible or not.
Don’t forget, Mr Hillary had 8 years to get all those little kiddies insured…..

Re: 5. humordoc
I have seen the ad on her site, and it is spectacular. I stopped listening to NBC when Tom Brokaw left.
