*UPDATE* (3:15PM): Strayhorn and Friedman have been certified. Repeat, Strayhorn and Friedman have been certified for the ballot. This will change absolutely… nothing. Carry on.
Per BOR, the latest poll results for the governor’s race are in. Democrat Chris Bell is in second place at 19.7 percent compared to Perry’s 37.7 percent. WSJ/Zogby actually shows Strayhorn in last place, behind Kinky. When I’m wrong, I say I’m wrong. And I’m telling you now, I’m. not. wrong.
Despite these poll numbers, I remain convinced that Bell can’t win the silver. I also can’t believe that Strayhorn’s in a three-way with Kinky and Bell. Tickets on sale after the petitions have been verified.
I haven’t trusted the polls since they showed Kerry winning on Election Day. Numbers mean very little to me, a former English major. Plus math is hard and I’m an ex-cheerleader.

More of Strayhorn’s supporters are political types. They “forgot” they signed more than one petition, or voted in the primary, or were confused about the requirements.

I had such a good feeling on election night ‘04. Mrs. TheAsylum and I had a lovely dinner at the Pappas Seafood on Shepherd. I knew that the Rs were all around me, and they could hear me and I was a smug little prick talking about how I couldn’t wait to hear W’s concession speech.
